Hot Autumn Trends for Kids

I asked the lovely staff at my local kid’s clothing boutique Kidsen for some top tips on autumn fashion for kids. Here’s what they had to say:

A big must for this time of year are coats than can handle different kinds of weather from chilly wind and rain to mild sunshine. Look out for coats and jackets with removable inner linings and big pockets for those autumn conkers. Gorgeous sketched prints make a nice change from the usual plain navy’s and khaki greens. Check out lined rain jacket in gorgeous car print from The Kids Window,  mini penguin raincoats from Petit Bateau and fabulous animal print coats from John Lewis. If your kids, like mine, hate the itchiness of wool, look out for items made of fleece such as  scarves from Mothercare. Funky tights and leggings are great for both boys and girls in the autumn season. Again, look out for soft materials that won’t drive your little ones crazy! For extra warmth for babies, there are few things cuter than owl long-johns from Jojo Maman Bebe Gilets are really popular this autumn and you can hardly walk into any kids clothing shop without seeing one of these perfect-for-the-season sleeveless coats. I love this faux fur one from Next. Animal print jumpers are everywhere this season catering for both boys and girls. Check out the ranges at  Next. Denim is also back on the high street and my favourites are  uber-cool slouchy playsuits from Next and denim gilet/hooded top combi from M&S. And to finish off with, here’s a great tip: Look on websites such as Etsy for unusual, funky badges and iron-on patches to mend holes and personalise last year’s coats and jeans.

Happy conker season everyone!
