How often do you pamper yourself?

I’m really bad at pampering myself. Practical beauty treatments – waxing, highlights, threading or eyelash tinting – yes, they’re essential maintenance, right? But I don’t usually have time for anything slightly more luxurious, and of course guilt (about the money and the time) plays a part as well.

But as you know I love, love love Elemis. So when they invited me to go and try out their new ‘Spa in the City’ package at their Mayfair day-spa, well, it felt a bit churlish to say no.

The Spa really is an oasis in the city, calm and welcoming, and I was shown into the Thai treatment room, which smelt divine and instantly made me feel calm and tranquil (no mean feat). The therapist started off by giving me a pedicure and manicure which was so relaxing I struggled to keep my eyes open. The pedicure in particular was heavenly and included an exotic lime and ginger scrub followed by some foot conditioning with (my personal favourite) warm frangipani oil. Then it was time for my mini Power Booster facial, which was just gorgeous.

Afterwards my nails sparkled, my feet were silky smooth, and my skin glowed. And I realised when I put my watch back on that I’d been in the treatment room for 75 minutes. Time well spent, I’d say. At £99 the Spa in the City package is a lovely luxury pre-holiday or wedding treat.

And don’t forget if you can’t make it to the Mayfair spa you can buy Elemis products from timetospa. Go on, give yourself a pampering treat – you deserve it.

*How often do you pamper yourself – and what are your favourite treats? Or do you feel guilty about spending money and time on yourself? I’d love to know.
