Come on get snap happy

I don’t know about you but we seem to have loads and loads of photos all over the place and I've been meaning to organise them for a while now. Which is why I was so excited to discover Photobox’s personalised Photobooks.

They’re just fab. Basically you choose which photos to include (you can have anything from 26 to 100 pages holding up to 1200 photos), and then customize each page with captions, backgrounds, fonts, colours and layouts (or you can autofill if you’re pushed for time).

Then they send the book back to you, beautifully bound, like a coffee table book. Uploading the pics can take a little time but the end results are definitely worth it.

The photo books start at £23.99 plus P&P, but if you order through KidStart you get 5% back for your kids and 2 for 1 on Photobooks and canvas prints. PLUS all orders taken in March will be entered into a draw to win one of four £50 vouchers. Click here for more info.

Disney's Princess and the Frog - review, special events and competition!

Back in December I gave you a sneaky peek at Disney's The Princess and the Frog - and the good news is it opens today!

Set in New Orleans in the 20s, The Princess and the Frog gives a new spin on an old classic. It's the story of Tiana, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who dreams of owning her own restaurant. Unfortunately she gets mixed up with the handsome but rather cocky Prince Naveen and some voodoo magic which ends up turning both her and the prince into frogs! It's a wonderful, enchanting film, featuring a brilliant jazz-inspired soundtrack, instantly memorable songs and a return to 2D hand drawn animation. I guarantee the whole family will love it.

And make sure you pop along to your nearest Disney Store on Saturday mornings as they'll be hosting a whole range of special themed FREE events at their Princess and the Frog: Royal Academy, including animation, storytelling and etiquette lessons, plus extra events at half-term!

COMPETITION:
To celebrate the movie's release, we're giving you the chance to win an amazing Princess and the Frog prize pack. The prize includes a Kissing Naveen plush toy, a Louis plush toy, a Nintendo DS game, a Wii game, a Princess Tiana fancy dress costume, a fortune card game, a notebook, CD soundtrack, backpack, watch and sticker set.

How to enter: All you have to do is send the answer to the following question from your KidStart registered email address to competitions@kidstart.co.uk including your name, daytime telephone number, address by 17 February. If you are not a KidStart member click here to join.

Question: Which US city is Princess and the Frog set in?

Give your home a 60 Minute Makeover!

Are you planning to redecorate your house from top to bottom in time for Christmas? No? Me either. Terri Dwyer, the former presenter of 60 Minute Makeover, convinced me a while back that it's really easy to transform a room if you haven't the time/money/inclination to paint it.

Festive cushions from Marks & Spencer

'Just use soft furnishings - cushions and throws, maybe a new rug - and a few simple accessories,' she told me.

Of course it's easy enough to make cushion covers (very little sewing required) but if you want to really treat your sofa then M&S have a fantastic selection of festive-looking cushions, including a stunning red sequin one (£15) and emerald leaf silk cushion (£35).

For finishing touches this berry red tealight holder (£3.50) is incredibly pretty, and if you want to add a welcoming touch to your front door then the light up amarylis wreath (£25) is just the thing.

Festive touches to cheer your home this Christmas

And every purchase made via KidStart today (with any retailer) will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win an £100 M&S voucher! This is not just Christmas...

Savvy Christmas shopping starts here!

I've decided that the only sensible way to shop for Christmas presents this year is to do it little and often (rather than in one big expensive burst) - that way I can spread the cost, I won't have that horrid sinking feeling when I look at my credit card/bank statement in January and I can make the most of all the great offers available at the moment.

So fantastic news - www.kidstart.co.uk is giving anyone who shops through the website between now and 13 December automatic entry into their Grand Prize Christmas draw. One lucky member will win over £1000 of presents, including a £100 M&S gift card, £100 into your Kiddybank from Tesco, £100 gift voucher from Play.com and £100 gift card from Waterstones, £100 gift voucher from House of Fraser, a case of wine from Majestic and an iPod Shuffle from Apple plus more. And of course you get money back for your kids every time you shop.

Get savings for your kids when you do your shopping
I'm not just saying it - I honestly don't know why you'd do your Christmas shopping any other way.

Could your child be a model for Next?

Next

One of my favourite retailers, Next, has just launched their Next Generation competition to find aspiring little models aged four to seven to take part in a shoot for the  Directory. I've spoken to the organisers and they've told me that the emphasis is very much on fun - they want the kids to look like they're enjoying themselves.

So if you think this is something your son or daughter would like to do, join the Next page on Facebook and then click on the Kids Competition tab and follow the instructions on how to enter. And if they make it through to the final 100, do let me know!
