I don\u2019t know about you but each year I receive the obligatory patterned socks and scarf from well meaning but often misguided family members.<\/h2>\r\nI know you\u2019re all saying \u201cbut it\u2019s the thought that counts\u201d but when your sock drawer looks like an army of Picasso enthusiasts have dropped their paint pallets in it, then more wacky socks is really the last thing you need for Christmas.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nSo in the blind hope that my wife reads this blog \ud83d\ude09 I\u2019ve decided to write down my all time fantasy no-holds-barred Christmas Wish list from Amazon (2% back for your kids with KidStart).<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\r\n

I would have to say diving into a full on gaming experience again does sound like the last thing any father should be doing. There are fewer things as immersive and entertaining as a well designed computer game. yes while it can suck up hours of your life it can also be a great way to unwind after a hard day\u2019s work. Oh and did I mention \u2013 you can watch 3-D Blue Rays on the PS4 \u2013 just great for the \u201cPride & Prejudice\u201d 3-D hi-def remake that\u2019s due to start filming in the new year \ud83d\ude09\r\n

Number 2: Pearl Export Drum Kit (Arctic White Sparkle)<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\"61N839C7NQL._SL1260_\"<\/a>\r\n\r\nTo the great joy of my family and neighbours I play the drums. I have also been known to make an electric guitar sing like a tortured canary. \u00a0Having misspent a good part of my younger years playing in a band. Becoming overly familiar with the sweaty pub circuit. I think the time is now right to hang up my touring sticks and settle down in a nice man cave at home. Where I can finally produce that seventh studio album the world has been waiting for.\u00a0 Earplugs not included \ud83d\ude09\r\n

The dream wish list has turned in to a nightmare. But actually jet washes are one of my all time favourite gadgets. Not least because they are so damn fun to use. From washing cars to blasting moss off the patio. The jet wash in my opinion is the modern day equivalent to the cave man\u2019s club. When it comes to big sticks \u2013 the bigger the better!\r\n

Number 4: Kindle Fire HDX Tablet<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\"kt-slate-01-lg-hover\"<\/a>\r\n\r\nOne of my favourite features of the new Kindle fire HDX is the parental controls. They let parents create individual profiles for their kids. Set time limits on their use and restrict access to certain content. It also comes loaded with Office Suite. Which allows you to view and print Word, PowerPoint and Excel files from anywhere \u2013 handy for work! It has a fast web browser and can be synched to your email. With access to thousands of apps including BBC i-player, Facebook & Twitter, games, films, music, books and magazines and a colour perfect display I really am left wondering why anyone would pay 3 times as much for the Apple i-pad?\r\n\r\nLast word \u2013 I want one!\r\n

Number 5: V-fit STG\/09-3 Herculean Modular Compact PYTHON Gym<\/h3>\r\n\"81z263RmfZS._SL1500_\"<\/a>\r\n\r\nSo right next to the new home music studio in the other<\/em> spare room will go the home gym. Yes I know technically it\u2019s not a spare room and our beloved son lives there. But I think he forfeited bedroom privileges when he chose to turn it into a pigsty! \u00a0Plus if the room\u2019s going to smell like a sweaty teenager at least it should be because some useful physical activity has gone on inside!\r\n\r\nHome fitness gear is a great way to stay in shape if you stick to the plan and use it regularly. My sincere hope is that after this New Year\u2019s resolution of getting fit, having easy access to the equipment at home will mean there\u2019s no excuse this time round!\r\n\r\nWell that\u2019s my fantasy Amazon Christmas wish list folks. The main thing to remember is that there are so many useful, fun and innovative gift ideas out there that there\u2019s really no excuse for the patterned socks.
