{"id":1440,"date":"2009-09-21T08:30:00","date_gmt":"2009-09-21T08:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/79.170.44.80\/livingwithkids.co.uk\/sorry-but-its-strictly-x-factor-for-me\/"},"modified":"2013-06-24T13:14:02","modified_gmt":"2013-06-24T13:14:02","slug":"sorry-but-its-strictly-x-factor-for-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kidstart.co.uk\/blog\/sorry-but-its-strictly-x-factor-for-me\/","title":{"rendered":"Sorry but it&#8217;s Strictly X Factor for me"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>  Like many&nbsp;families across the UK we&nbsp;gathered on the sofa with a pizza on Saturday night to watch <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/strictlycomedancing\/\" target=\"_blank\">Strictly Come Dancing<\/a>&nbsp; Saturday night and (thanks to&nbsp;<a href =\"http:\/\/www.kidstart.co.uk\/partner\/Sky.aspx?t=lwk\" target=\"_blank\">Sky Plus<\/a>) <a href=\"http:\/\/xfactor.itv.com\/2009\/\" target=\"_blank\">the X Factor<\/a>.   <\/p>\n<p>  Harriet&nbsp;loves the sparkly dresses&nbsp;on Strictly and&nbsp;Ben likes the auditions&nbsp;on the X-Factor.&nbsp;But as far as I&#39;m concerned, there really isn&#39;t a contest. Strictly doesn&#39;t hot up until the celebrities with two left feet have been voted off, and I&#39;m not sure Alesha Dixon is really an asset to the panel, either.   <\/p>\n<p>  The difference with the X Factor is that it&#39;s ordinary people trying to sing their way to a better future. Yes some of the stories are a bit contrived and&nbsp;the&nbsp;Cheryl-hugs-the-crying-contestant moment is getting a bit predictable.   <\/p>\n<p>  But&nbsp;I still prefer watching genuine human emotion to a bunch of overpaid celebs attempting to waltz\/tango\/rhumba their way around a dancefloor.   <\/p>\n<p>  Which show do you prefer?
