Spooky season is here and if you’re looking for some Halloween themed activities for the family other than trick or treating\u00a0 we’ve put our heads together and shared some of our favourite ideas.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n\n\n\n

Halloween movie night<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can’t go wrong with a movie night and there’s so many classic Halloween films to watch with your kids. Decorate the front room with Halloween decorations, eBay<\/a><\/strong>, Sainsbury’s<\/a><\/strong> and Wilkos<\/a><\/strong> are good places to look if you need to get some. Get in your comfiest pyjamas and get cosy on the sofa with a bowl of sweets. We recommend Hocus Pocus 1 and 2, The Addams Family and Corpse Bride! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pumpkin carving and baking<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pumpkin carving is a classic Halloween tradition and something your kids will love to help you with. Get creative and take a look on Google, Instagram and Pinterest for carving inspiration. Pumpkins you buy to carve may not be the tastiest but you can find eating pumpkins that you can use the flesh from to bake some delicious spiced pumpkin goodies. Waitrose have some tasty Halloween recipes here<\/a><\/strong> but remember to click out from their retailer page on KidStart<\/a><\/strong> if you’re planning on shopping so you can save too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family fancy dress<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can still get dressed up even if you’re not going trick or treating. If you have time and you’re feeling artistic have a go at making your own costumes, it’s a great way to get messy and creative with your little ones. If you’d prefer to go down the ready-made route check out John Lewis & Partners<\/a><\/strong>, TU<\/a><\/strong>, shopDisney<\/a><\/strong> and Argos<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Halloween scavenger hunt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A scavenger hunt could be our favourite out of all the Halloween activities. Decorate the house, get in your Halloween costumes and set up a spooky scavenger hunt. Hide sweets around your home and\/or garden and write clues for your little ones to follow. There’s some great examples of this online if you need some help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spooky local activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you and your kids would still like to get out and about take a look at what is happening in your local area. Many castles and cities are running ghost walks and creepy events. We recommend taking a look this article by Visit England<\/a> who have listed some spooktacular activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
