Are you one of the people in the UK that has been caught up with the cold water dipping craze? Or do you have children that love being outdoors no matter how chilly it is? Then this review is for you. I\u2019ve definitely been swept up in the cold water movement since relocating to the coast. So, when Dryrobe<\/a>\u00ae reached out to us at KidStart to see if we wanted to test out their change robes I jumped at the chance to give their Dryrobe\u00ae Advance a go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019ve never heard of Dryrobe\u00ae before then let me give you a quick bit of background into the original weatherproof change robe. In 1983 British surfer Gideon Bright and his mother created a cape to change under from waterproof material, a towel lining and a hood. But it wasn\u2019t until 2010 that Gideon decided to reinvent that design using state-of-the-art garment technology that Dryrobe\u00ae is known for today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To give both the adults\u2019 and children’s Dryrobe\u00ae Advance a thorough test I arranged a day at our local beach in North East England with my friend and her little boy. Like a usual British summer’s day, it was sunny-ish but pretty windy and the sea was as you\u2019d expect\u2026freezing.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a couple of hours of playing on the beach and having a swim it was time to get dry. This is always my least favourite part as it means fumbling behind a towel trying to remove soaking wet swimwear, dry off and get into as many layers as possible. The Dryrobe\u00ae Advance made it a breeze this time for me and my friend and her son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ordered my Dryrobe\u00ae big enough to change under (they recommend sizing down if you’re not planning on using it for this), which meant I could quickly and easily get dressed without the fear of flashing anyone and then stay toasty afterwards. The robes are fleece lined, windproof, waterproof (the outer is made from 100% recycled nylon) and fast drying. It meant we could go for a coffee and ice cream afterwards without the need to dash home for a hot shower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children\u2019s robes come in sizes 5-9 and 10-13 years. My friend\u2019s little boy is 4 so the robe was a little too long but it\u2019ll last him for years. His mum said it would be perfect for their camping trips and rainy winter dog walks too. Plenty of opportunity to get wear out of it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which is definitely what I\u2019ll be doing with mine as well. They look great, come in lots of colour-ways and are extremely versatile and well-made. So even when summer is over and I\u2019m dipping less, the Dryrobe\u00ae will still be a part of my everyday wardrobe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
