And as a mum my heart goes out to the four little children (aged three months to four years) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/society\/2009\/nov\/16\/home-alone-mother-blackburn-sentence\" target=\"_blank\">who were abandoned by their mum while she went partying<\/a>.   <\/p>\n<p>  It was, she says, &#39;a moment of madness&#39;. But from the news footage of her home the family had clearly been living in squalor for some time.
