{"id":3515,"date":"2011-10-05T09:50:27","date_gmt":"2011-10-05T08:50:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/79.170.44.80\/livingwithkids.co.uk\/?p=3515"},"modified":"2013-06-24T13:06:11","modified_gmt":"2013-06-24T13:06:11","slug":"face-britain-get-your-kids-involved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kidstart.co.uk\/blog\/face-britain-get-your-kids-involved\/","title":{"rendered":"Face Britain: Get Your Kids Involved"},"content":{"rendered":"If you\u2019re interested in art, or simply boosting your kids\u2019 creativity, the <strong>UK\u2019s largest ever art project \u2018Face Britain\u2019<\/strong> is now up and running.\n\nIt\u2019s the UK\u2019s biggest ever mass art project and is open to all young people in the UK aged 4-16 years giving them the chance to create a self portrait which will be displayed alongside those of the rich and famous such as from Alan Rickman, Fearne Cotton, Amir Khan, and Rankin, to name but a few.\n\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.livingwithkids.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/FaceBritain.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-3516\" src=\"http:\/\/www.livingwithkids.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/FaceBritain-300x217.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"217\" \/><\/a>\n\nThe aim of the project is to give all children in the UK access to, and a chance to be inspired by the arts helping them to boost their self-esteem. As a result portraits at all levels of skill and in any medium are acceptable including drawing, textiles, 3D, painting, graphics and photography. All self-portraits can then be uploaded onto the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebritain.org.uk\/\">Face Britain online gallery<\/a> from now until March 2012 and it\u2019s hoped the project will provide a unique snapshot of how the nation\u2019s young people see themselves.\n\nFace Britain also aims to celebrate the future and to celebrate the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee in 2012 all the portraits from Face Britain\u2019s online gallery will be combined to create a montage of The Queen. This will then be projected onto Buckingham Palace as well as on a network of digital screens across the UK.\n\nSo far over 30,000 registration packs have already been sent out to every school in the UK.
