OK, we\u2019ve all done it… told those little white lies to our kids just for the sake of peace or making them feel ok or (let\u2019s face it) getting them do what we need them to do when we\u2019ve asked them to do it!\u00a0 Which of these do you recognise?<\/h3>\r\n1. \u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to your three hour class assembly in which you play a small part as a stick of broccoli this afternoon.\u201d (You would rather watch paint dry).\r\n\r\n2. \u201cOf course Santa\/the Tooth Fairy\/the Easter Bunny is real!\u201d (You\u2019re not ready to let go of the bribery options these fantasy figures offer).\r\n\r\n3. \u201cOh dear, my phone\/ipad\/etc has run out of battery.\u201d (It hasn\u2019t, but your kids have been playing on it so long, you worry that they might be radioactive).\r\n\r\n4. \u201cThe Internet is broken.\u201d (It hasn\u2019t, but one more game of Moshi Monsters might destroy your brain).\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\"4599725738_99f7787416_z\"<\/a>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n5. \u201cWe\u2019re nearly there.\u201d (You have 200 miles to go and no toilet in sight).\r\n\r\n6. \u201cLook, you\u2019ll understand when you\u2019re older.\u201d (You still don\u2019t have a clue).\r\n\r\n7. \u201cThat picture is brilliant darling!\u201d\u00a0 (You stare at interesting scribble that looks a bit like a psychological inkblot test).\r\n\r\n8. \u201cI don\u2019t know where your pink glittery plastic shoes from granny and grandpa are.\u201d (They\u2019re in the Oxfam bag).\r\n\r\n9. \u201cI don\u2019t know where your kazoo\/violin is.\u201d (Down the back of the sofa getting dusty).\r\n\r\n10. \u201cYes, I know the goldfish might look different, but it\u2019s the same.\u201d (Damn, kids are smart).\r\n
