If you are coming towards the end of your pregnancy and are planning a hospital birth, it\u2019s a good idea to prepare a hospital bag containing all the things you will need for labour, birth and the first\u00a0 few hours with your newborn.<\/h2>\r\nRemember that there is often little space to store items in hospitals and you can\u2019t necessarily keep valuables safe, so just take essentials. Here\u2019s what should be in your hospital bag:<\/strong>\r\n

Hospital bag for you:<\/h3>\r\nEverything you want to have with you in labour such as a Tens machine, massage oils, birthing ball, favourite music\r\n\r\nYour birth plan\r\n\r\nAn old shirt or nightie for the birth\r\n\r\nSocks and\/or slippers\r\n\r\nBottles of water\r\n\r\nSnacks\r\n\r\nWashbag containing all your usual essentials like toothbrush and shampoo\r\n\r\nHairbrush and hair ties\r\n\r\nPyjamas and nighties with easy access for breastfeeding\r\n\r\nNursing bra<\/a>\r\n\r\nNipple cream<\/a>\r\n\r\nBreast pads<\/a>\r\n\r\nTissues\r\n\r\nMaternity pads and lots of big knickers<\/a>\r\n\r\nC-section pants if appropriate\r\n\r\nChange of clothes for leaving hospital\r\n
