I have my teenager at home this week so I have seized the opportunity to compile a dictionary of ‘teen speak’ . <\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\nSo I can understand what the heckins she and her friends are on about. I thought I\u2019d share it with you all so you can use it at the next parent\u2019s evening. <\/span><\/strong>\r\n\r\nYou\u2019re welcome \ud83d\ude42<\/span>\r\n\r\nAllow it<\/strong> = let it go<\/em> as in, \u201cThe teacher said your school report was not great, but I have decided to allow it.\u201d\r\n\r\nAwkward<\/strong> = used in any slightly uncomfortable situation as in, \u201cThe dads versus teachers race at Sport\u2019s Day was awkward.\u201d\r\n\r\nBare<\/strong> = very<\/em> as in, \u201cKidstart<\/a> have bare good offers.\u201d\r\n\r\nButters<\/strong> = ugly<\/em> as in, \u201cNo Charlie, your sister is not butters.\u201d\r\n\r\nDolla<\/strong> = money<\/em> as in, \u201cAn account with Kidstart saves you lots of dolla.\u201d\r\n\r\nFam<\/strong> = family<\/em> as in Kidstart allow you make savings for the whole fam.\u201d\r\n\r\nPeak times<\/strong> = bad times<\/em> as in, \u201cI lost my job, then got splashed by a passing bus, then broke my leg; peak times.\u201d\r\n\r\nPeng<\/strong> = good looking<\/em> as in, \u201cThe PE teacher was bare peng\u201d.\r\n\r\nPiff<\/strong> = attractive<\/em> as in, \u201cThe head of Year three is bare piff.\u201d\r\n\r\nSafe<\/strong> = cool, alright<\/em> as in \u201cThese offers from Kidstart are safe.\u201d\r\n\r\nSick\u00a0<\/strong>= really good<\/em> as in, \u201cLook at these sick offers from Kidstart.\u201d\r\n\r\nWaste Man<\/strong> = waste of space<\/em>, idiotic person as in \u201cCharlie dropped his popcorn all over the cinema floor. What a waste man.\u201d\r\n\r\nWhagwan G?<\/strong> = what\u2019s going on gangster?<\/em> as in, \u201cWelcome home from school children. Now, whagwan my lil Gs?\u201d\r\n\r\nYOLO<\/strong> = you only live once<\/em> as in, \u201cI only have \u00a31 left but I really want that chocolate bar. Oh well, I\u2019m going to buy it anyway. YOLO.\u201d\r\n\r\nGot any to add? That would be safe.\r\n
