5 top tips for buying school uniforms

Kids may have not yet or only just broken up for the school holidays but it’s never too early to start looking for deals on back to school clothing.

We’re here to give you our top 5 tips to help you get the most for your money when getting your little ones ready for the next school year. Whether that’s on clothing, stationary, shoes and accessories, we’ve got you covered.

1. Make a list of what you need

Find out from your child’s school to see if they have a uniform list of what your child will need. Take in to consideration that your child will most likely grow throughout the year so you could buy shirts, trousers and skirts in the size your child is now and a bigger size whilst the deals are on. Also remember to buy a few of each items to allow one on, one in the wash and a spare.

2. Start looking early for the best deals

Retailers have started their back to school deals already so keep and eye out and take advantage if you see a good one. Take a look online and shop around, remember that a lot of supermarkets now sell clothing and that includes great school uniforms that won’t break the bank.

3. Speak to other parents

Have a chat to other parents at your little one’s school and see where they’re looking to buy their school uniforms from, they may know about an offer that’s running that you don’t know about. They also might have good tips and tricks to get the best value for money and to make your uniforms last longer.

4. Label everything

That’s right, label everything! This way you can hopefully make sure your kid’s will come home with their school uniform and not a class mate’s. It also makes things easier to track down in the lost property box or by teachers if items get left at school. Easy2Name are a great retailer who specialise in labels for everything from stationary to clothing to lunch boxes.

5. Order school uniform online

Lastly, don’t forget, shop online and use KidStart! You can earn money back on all of your back to school shopping from great retailers like John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s and more. Check out our back to school category to take a look at our favourite retailers!
