It's darker than the other films and be warned, there are some genuinely chilling scenes – it's 12a for a reason. But it's also utterly enthralling, and the acting (particularly by Michael Gambon and Daniel Radcliffe) is superb. There are also some lump-in-throat moments and, of course, the special effects are spectacular.
Afterwards as we emerged blinking into the dusk we seemed to be surrounded by Emma Watson/Hermoine-lookalikes. No boys carrying broomsticks and wearing round glasses though.
