Looking forward to the new SATC movie?

I can’t wait for the release of SATC2 (May 28). Not really because of the plot (I’m sure it’ll all work out in the end), but because of the clothes! Of course their designer gear is out of price reach for most of us – but you can still steal their style.

The good news is Debenhams, the movie’s official retail partner, has launched a gorgeous SATC-inspired collection.

The halterneck dress is Principles by Ben de Lisi (£65), the Grecian dress (£55) and strapless dress (£50) are Star by Julien Macdonald, and the printed dress is Butterfly by Matthew Williamson (£80).

And the Matthew Williamson tie-dye bikini is £18 for the top and £8 for the bottoms, the J by Jasper Conran green maxi dress is £40, the swimsuit is also £40, and the Red Herring maxi dress is £35.

You could also smell like a Big Apple fashionista with DKNY’s fabulous Love from New York fragrance (£29.99, available from FragranceDirect)…
or Be Delicious (from £38, available from John Lewis and Boots).

And if you want to know what Carrie and co get up to in the new movie, here's a taster. If you had to be one SATC character, which one would you be? I’d love to know.

Well, I hate to say it but I am NOT a SATC girl! I never watched it when it was on (it was on HBO in the US which is a pay channel- like Sky- & we didn’t get it). But when I was studying in France in 2005, a friend had the full DVD set and I watched almost all of them and they were quite good. Still, I’m not all that interested & I’m even less interested in fashion BUT I’m sure everyone will flock to Debenhams to look like the girls as they epitomise fashion chic!

I LOVE SATC. How could any girl not? I know, they shop and lunch with seemingly endless budgets but that’s what so great about it- it’s a fairytale in New York. I remember the shows first series. I was single and living in London. They used to show a double bill on a Wednesday(?) night. I would sit in my flat with a glass of wine and enjoy a spot of New York ‘window shopping’. TV heaven. I think most girls love Carrie, but relate better to the other characters for one reason or another. I think I’m probably Samantha. Not because that is my name in real life, but because I look quite ladylike but I have a bit of a potty mouth. Oh, and my husband is my toyboy ;0)

I loved the series and really enjoyed the first film – it is wonderful escapism. Living in NY now I’ll also be interested to see if I recognise more of the locations!
