How to celebrate Valentine’s Day during lockdown

Valentine’s Day this year is going to be a little bit different, it won’t be the usual case of going out for dinner or to the cinema but there are still plenty of ways to celebrate with your other half.

We wanted to share with you our top five ways of celebrating that are lockdown and family friendly.

Give a gift

A thoughtful gift is always a nice way to show someone you care on Valentine’s Day and this is something that is lockdown friendly too. Notonthehightstreet have some fabulous personalised gifts from bespoke artwork to engraved jewellery, plus get up to 3% back with KidStart. Bloom & Wild for letterbox flowers and John Lewis & Partners for your partner’s favourite fragrance is always a great option too.

Breakfast in bed, cook a meal or both

Eating out may be off the cards but why not bring this to your home. We love Dishoom’s bacon and sausage naan roll kits if you want to treat your other half to breakfast in bed. If you want to opt for an evening meal then Gousto is a great choice, they do delicious meals for you to choose from and you can get up to £4 back for your kids too.

Romantic movie night

Bring the cinema to your home by watching your favourite films and getting stocked up with cinema snacks. This is something you could also do with the kids if you want to do this before they go to bed. There’s a variety of sellers on Etsy that stock movie night kits with sweet treats, traditional cardboard popcorn boxes and decorations. If you click through from KidStart you will get 1.3% back for your kids too.

Pamper night

Turn your home into a spa and plan a pamper night for Valentine’s Day. Buy massage oils, bath bombs and face masks to relax and unwind with your significant other after the kids have gone to bed. Boots, Cowshed, Feelunique and Look Fantastic are all KidStart retailers who you’ll earn money back from.

Bake and craft day

If your kids want to get involved then a bake and craft day is a family friendly activity. Make personalised cards to each other and bake valentines cookies or cupcakes. We love the look of these raspberry and passionfruit cupcakes and if you need to stock up on ingredients shop with Waitrose for 60p back.
