What’s your sideline?

There was a fab article in yesterday's Guardian about all the different jobs you can do to make money from home. I've written articles for mags and newspapers on WAHMs but I hadn't realised before just how many different things there are you can do to make some extra £s.

Did you know for example you can get involved with next year's Census? You can make biscuits and sweets to sell through local gift shops, groom someone else's dog, make scrapbooks, grow vegetables…

Of course selling things you don't need on ebay is a great way to make some extra money for Christmas. And I'm looking at all the pears and apples in our garden at the moment and thinking I really should have made some jam this year.

So what's your sideline – and what are your top tips for earning money from home? I'd love to know.

While I was at home, I tried selling Phoenix Cards. I was SO rubbish I can’t tell you, I used to ask friends if they wanted to look at the catalogue and start off by pointing out that they were expensive but nice, I remember going to a table top sale to try and sell some, I made more money from odds and sods from home, but even with them I couldn’t charge as much as would have been fair and ended up virtually giving it away. I still have packets of Phoenix cards that pop up in some hidden corner at home now and again.

I’ve got all sorts lined up, reconditioning furniture for shabby chic etc, recycling all sorts into craft stuff for local shop, ebay obviously, anything craft really. I’m a bit rubbish at the selling thing too, have also known someone having awful time with pheonix and I used to paint my own cards and its a struggle because they can be mass produced so cheaply! Haven’t had my arrival yet however so all could go out the window!

I started Get Better Coaching in May and am doing really well mostly through referrals. I support people to build their confidence to do whatever they want, help people decide what they want and what career would suit their life. This often means helping people think through their idea for starting up in business, buying a franchise or direct marketing. I also supporting people to grow their business or try new marketing ideas. Whatever you think, you are more than that and you can learn the things you need to. I have! I’m so excited to share this with you as it is all new to me. I’ve just started my own network marketing company working with a skincare, beauty & wellbeing brand called Arbonne. Its a swiss formulated range which is free of all those chemical nasties and its brand new in the UK so the possibilities are endless. The beauty is that anyone set up their own business and become a part of this huge opportunity. Please look at my website and let me know what you think, I’d love to share my enthusiasm with anyone who wants to listen!! http://motherandbaby.myarbonne.co.uk/
