  • Excesses will apply to your policy, which will affect the amount of premium you pay, and the amount you pay towards any vet treatment. An Overage Excess will apply to your policy when your pet turns a certain age (5 or 8 years old for a dog, depending on the breed, and 10 for a cat). After that, you'll have to pay 20% of any claim you make.

    New policies can be taken out for cats and dogs over 8 weeks old up to the upper ages of the policy. Pre-existing injuries and illness are not covered. Changes in your pet’s health or behaviour, or any illness that develops from these changes within the first 14 days of your cover start date are not covered. Certain breeds of cat and dog are also not covered.
